Many years ago when I was a radio DJ on Tokyo FM, I had a chance to interview Suzanne Vega. We were talking about her song “GYPSY”, and I told her it sounded like she was singing about me, since it was about a traveler she once met. She said something like “You must be kidding me, I didn’t even know you!” And she laughed it off. Well that night she had a concert that I attended and when she introduced the song “GYPSY” she said, “This is for George from the radio.” Well it ended up that they were taping that show for a DVD and a CD so there it is. lol.

数年前、私は東京FMのラジオDJとして活動していた頃、スザンヌ・ヴェガとのインタビューの機会がありました。彼女の曲「GYPSY」について話していて、彼女がかつて出会った旅人について歌っているように思えたので、私が彼女のことを歌っていると言いました。すると彼女は「冗談でしょう、私はあなたのことを知りませんでしたよ！」と笑って返しました。そしてその夜、私は彼女のコンサートに参加しました。彼女が「GYPSY」という曲を紹介する際に、「これはラジオのジョージさんへのプレゼントです」と言いました。結果的にそのショーはDVDとCDのために収録されることになりましたので、そこにはそのエピソードが残っています。
